Sunday T Dogonyaro is a co-founder and Executive Director of the African Policy Research Institute, a private think tank on public policy based in Abuja, Nigeria and serves on the boards of Guinness Nigeria, Tom Hawksworth Ltd, Daylad Consults and Family Ministries (Africa) International.
Born on 10th May 1952, Sunday is a retired Nigerian diplomat from Zuru in the northern Kebbi State of the country. He was educated in Nigeria and the United Kingdom with bachelor’s degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics & Political Science. He is a member of the National Institute (mni) having attended the one year Strategic Management Course at the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos in 1998.
His diplomatic career spanned missions in the United Kingdom, South Africa and Sao Tome & Principe and was Nigeria’s pioneer Ambassador and Coordinator of Programmes at the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Secretariat, Midrand, S Africa from January 2002 to March 2004. He was head of Mission in Sao Tome & Principe from 2007-2010.
He holds the Nigerian National Honour of Officer of the Order of Niger, (OON) having been decorated by the Nigerian President in 2002 for outstanding contributions to Nigerian Foreign Service. He has published articles in Administrative and Management Journals and Chapters in books on NEPAD and has delivered papers at international conferences and meetings.
Married to Hannah Jedidah (nee Ango), he is blessed with 3 children, Daniel, Elizabeth & John.
